| Current music: | The Mountain Goats - Hello, Old Rabbit |
life is absolutely incredible
I'm listening to the Mountain Goats' Hail and Farewell, Gothenburg.
I can't even explain it to you guys if you're not Mountain Goats fans, or like understand the weight of like finding like...gold.
conversation with Pam over blitz:
Pam: "but can either one of you send me hail, and farewell?"
Andy: "uh...what is that? are you referring to the lost mountain goats album Hail and Farewell Gothenburg which may or may not actually exist?
I've heard like 2 songs off it, but I'm pretty sure most of it doesn't exist"
Pam: "yeah, brendon said it leaked and he has it, and some blogs are posting mp3s from it, too."
Andy: "holy shit. it has the version of You're So Vain which I covered in lone pine like all teh time.
oh man, I'm hunting...I had no idea. that's what i get for deleting like 21382901839028 mountain goats mailing lists posts"
And so....I'm listening to fucking Hail and Farewell, Gothenburg.
I was trembling as I clicked the link to start the download.
Hearing You're So Vain for the first time since I put those old cassette tapes I made of the radio show up in my room for good...it makes me want to cry.
Damn, this is like in Amelie when the dude gets the cigar box full of his kid stuff. I mean, this isn't my kid stuff, but it feels like going home, being comfortable again, and just perfect.
This has been the best weekend in a very long time. I think my good karma caught up with me this weekend, or something. Man, it's just life. LIFE.
I'm so optimistic about life. talk to me about it some time.
